Our Story: Built to Serve, Priced to Help
Throughout his career as an IT specialist in the automotive industry, Bernard “Bernie” Girardot devoted much of his time to serving nonprofit and community organizations across Michigan. His commitment to community service included serving as president of both the Canton, Michigan Lions Club and the Cobblestone Ridge HOA, as well as participating in the Knights of Columbus and other volunteer organizations. Most notably, he served as Executive Director of the Michigan Armed Forces Hospitality Center, an airport military lounge better known as the MI Freedom Center.
Along the way, Bernie saw the same challenge again and again: good organizations doing important work while trying to manage donors, volunteers, events, fundraising, and communications through a patchwork of spreadsheets and disconnected software.
Powerful enterprise systems existed, but they were often too expensive, too complicated, or simply more than smaller nonprofits needed.
After retiring and moving from Michigan to North Carolina, Bernie remained deeply committed to the Freedom Center and its mission. While continuing to serve the organization as a consultant, he began developing CG Central as a practical way to simplify its day-to-day operations.
It soon became clear that the Freedom Center was not alone. Nonprofits everywhere face many of the same challenges—and CG Central could help them, too.
That realization shaped not only what we built, but also how we price it.
Guided setup, automation, and efficient processes help us keep our operating costs low so we can pass those savings along. Our goal is not to charge the highest price the market will bear. It is to provide capable, practical nonprofit management tools at a price organizations with limited resources can afford.
Because every dollar saved on unnecessary expenses can be directed where it has the greatest impact—advancing the mission.
CG Central was built from firsthand nonprofit experience, for the people doing the work every day.
